Burn serious calories with circuit training

Updated: May 3, 2018

Bored out of your mind and seeking a faster paced workout? Try circuit training! With a near limitless possibility of exercise arrangements, circuit training guarantees you will never get bored with repetitive and mundane routines.

Circuit training is a rigorous and rapid exercise routine that provides a full-body workout in as little as 20-30 minutes. Aside from the abundant health benefits on the physical side, it can also be advantageous on the psychological aspect. As productivity and motivation can plummet from boredom, anxiety may rise as a result. Circuit training can be very effective to combat this.

The entire workout consists of 8-10 exercise stations designed to work multiple muscle groups in one go. Each station is quick, done in around 10-25 reps in 30 seconds to 3 minutes. Remember, speed is the key! Take little to no breaks in between exercise stations. Circuit training offers a very high degree of versatility as you can always change up the exercises for each station as long as they culminate into a full-body workout.

No gym equipment is required for circuit training; simply using your body weight or small home equipment such as dumbbells and pull-up bar will suffice. If you have a gym membership, feel free to include gym equipment into your workout. For home workouts, here are some exercises to get you started:

- front plank

-abdominal crunches

-bicep curls

-triceps extensions

-squats

-lunges

-push-ups

-pull-ups

-burpees

This is only a sliver of exercises that you can utilize into your workout and considering many of these exercises have their own variations, the selection truly does seem limitless. Find the ones that work best for you!
